Minimalist Game Day 6 - Boys vs. Girls
Minimalist Game Day 6 – Boys vs. Girls

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” – Confucius.

Isn’t the quote mentioned true to life. We come into the world with nothing, needing very few things: love, food, shelter and clothing. For some strange reason along the way through life we feel compelled to acquire every possible piece of junk that comes across our path. “I might need this someday” or “That’s a great price, I’m sure that I’ll use it.” Later only to be starting at the same possession as a worthless piece of clutter.

So maybe you have used that item once, what purpose does it really serve you now? Is it creating cherished memories or just sitting accumulating dust? Dust that make me sneeze and creates more challenging housework. Dusting is my least favorite chore. It makes me come face to face with all of the clutter that I like to ignore.

This week my husband continues to purge his CD collection along with a lamp (missing it’s shade) that he acquired when a friend was moving. I think he did this just to save for this game.*Smile*

My items purged in the Minimalist Game contain five PLASTIC stencils from my scrapbooking supplies and a plastic organizer from my office. Any plastic item certainly get a priority in this purge. I am seeking to eliminate as much of the plastic in our household as possible. I have been writing a weekly plastic free series for the past 9 weeks now to identify the plastic consumed weekly in our household. How much plastic can I purge in the next 24 days? That’s a thought..
