“Our life is fritted away by detail. Simplify, simplify, simplify. Simplicity. Life and elevation of purpose.” – Henry David Thoreau.
The month of November is nearly half passed, soon December and thus the year of 2014 will be a memory. The speed of life has picked up and my creativity has waned. I am again searching for the opportunity to “take the next off ramp” to slow down. Why is it that the cycle seems to repeat itself?
Last weekend I attended a series of special discourses that discussed topics that centered on spirituality – one of the most important subjects of my attention. One discourse was entitled “How Time Does Fly.” Our time is filled with a constant flow of activity and distraction. The ants are busy, it’s not enough to be busy. What are you busy about?
I want to CHOOSE to be about the people most important to me. The things that I am busy about should reflect my priorities. Do they? Or am I like the ant? I still feel busy about mundane things. Change begins today…change begins now. Although we may take a step back now and then, let’s not forget the many steps forward that have already been taken.
